Free Introduction to Circles of Creative Harmony
Presented by Kathy Edwards
Circles of Creative Harmony are formed when people come together with a shared intention to speak and listen to one another from the deepest part of themselves. A facilitator introduces a topic and gently guides the group toward a simple yet profound shift in focus...from our everyday speaking habits to allowing the conversation to build its own momentum. If you are wondering what you can do to create the change you want to see in the world, this is the event for you. The full experience will be a 4-part series, meeting June 15, June 29, July 13 and July 27. This series is $40 and all meet from 12:30-1:45pm.
On Thursday, June 1st Kathy Edwards will be giving a free 90 minute orientation to a new way we can be together. From the We Space lineage, participants have the opportunity to create a whole new image of what the community/world could feel like. This is more structured than our present ongoing circles and backed by thousands of hours in the practice herself. Circles of Creative Harmony is conscious dialogue.
The free orientation will be giving you some background context as well as explaining the basic principals of Enlightened Communication before going into a couple of practice circles. If you are somewhat comfortable with not knowing and/or the creative process or you simply long to be heard, and seen in deeper connection ... I daresay you might like this practice as much as Kathy does!
sunday, june 4, 12:45-2:15pm
5 rhythms dance event
led by Barbara marlowe
5 Rhythms is a beautiful movement therapy practice, that takes the participant through 5 phases of exploration: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. You may have no idea what that means, but your body does. And Barbara will lovingly guide all participants through one's own personal expression of these elements. This event is fun, liberating, communal, a great workout, and transformative. No experience necessary. Just an open heart and mind. No shoes. Bring water--it can get sweaty!
Saturday, June 17 7:00-8:30pm
Led by Angel Grant, founder of the non-profit, Death Over Dinner
Death meditations have been practiced by Tibetan monks for thousands of years, and this specific meditation is adapted to meet our modern times. During the practice Angel will guide us through a gentle but powerful imagining of our final hours and walk us through reflections during a visioning of the natural dying process.
In the meditation, you'll be comfortably lying down on a mat with a pillow, blanket, notebook and pen. (So bring those things). The meditation lasts around 75 minutes and you are invited to practice silence for half an hour after leaving.
We're all going to die eventually. Tapping into this inevitable experience can show us what parts of our lives are asking for us to live more fully and awake in them. If this sounds uncomfortable to you, even more reason to attend!
